IC PUNK

Made for the Extra Credits Game Jam 2020.

One day you come home to your apartment and find a mysterious device and a note on your floor. The note says the device is an IC PUNK, used to hack circuits. You decide to follow the note's instructions. What's the worst that could happen?

Extra Translation: All the in-world text is in one of two written languages, TWC and Sendralese. (They don't actually say anything, though. They're just decoration.)

Extra Retro: I'm using a 4-color palette called Dream by Brandon James Greer. It's not technically one of the given palettes but I hope it still counts.

Extra Distance: Not a single person is within eyesight of the player the whole time! This is definitely because of the theme and not because spriting people is hard.

I really enjoyed this. Gave me Ruckingenur vibes.

This game was really fun and made me feel really smart for figuring out the well crafted puzzles

Very interesting concept. It was difficult to see what each number on the IC does, even after playing around with it for a while. An explanation of how each IC is programmed would be great.

I'm a little confused- I know how to work the game, but I don't know how to figure out which numbers to use... I think I passed the previously uploaded gas station level through luck alone ;m;

That's the point of the game, actually! Hopefully it should feel like you figured out what the chip's memory meant, not random chance... but that's my problem as a developer, not yours as a player.

What game engine you used?

Typescript transpiled to Javascript, using the built-in Canvas API. (So, I didn't use an engine...)

The graphics are really good, but its really hard without a tutorial on how to play, i hope you add it in the future!

I just added the tutorial! (I've been uploading incomplete versions of the game so I can show my friends.)

Great ge but you probably should add a main menu and tutorial part :)

Mhmm, I'm working on it. (In fact I just finished the tutorial!) The game here isn't done.

Cool
